Product Care

Protecting your new investment, including leather and canvas waterproofing, cleaning, preservation and more, is essential to keeping your bag looking as pristine as the day you bought it. To ensure that your Jon Hart Design product remains an heirloom-worthy treasure, follow our tips below.

How to clean and preserve leather bags:

We recommend KIWI products for conditioning, waterproofing and cleaning our leathers. Exposure to hand sanitizer, perfume or anything alcohol-based will cause damage to the leather. Contact with makeup, oils, dyes and dark denim can also stain the leather and be difficult to remove. We suggest that by keeping your leather item out of direct sunlight, heat, humidity, and contact with water, you will be on the right track to have it last a lifetime.

How to clean and preserve coated canvas bags:

Our coated canvas can normally be cleaned with a soft brush, soap and water. For tough soils and stains, coated canvas material manufacturer Haartz recommends Wolfsteins Pro-Series by Raggtopp, which can be found at www.raggtopp.com. If you have a stubborn stain that you can't get clean, feel free to call in and see if anything can be done for your vinyl bag.

Clear covers for wheeled luggage:

Our wheeled luggage is made to withstand the rigors of travel. Of course, the more you use your luggage, the more the tell-tale signs of travel become apparent. Some travelers actually prefer the look and feel of more seasoned pieces, but those who want to keep their luggage looking like new may prefer to use Jon Hart Design clear plastic covers. We highly recommend these covers to protect your luggage and keep it looking new. Currently, Jon Hart clear plastic covers are already included in the price of the 360 Large and Super Wheels products, as they must be checked on commercial airlines.

Wheeled luggage handles:

The pull handles on our wheeled luggage are designed for ease of movement. We recommend only pulling your luggage by the handle rather than lifting or carrying, as excessive weight or pressure on the pull handle may cause damage or breakage.
